What we believe
The Christians who meet at Mill Lane Chapel are people from all walks of life who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and who have a real desire to share the Christian Faith with others in the Cheshunt area.
About God
That there is one Sovereign Almighty God, existing eternally in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
About the Bible
That the sixty-six books of the Holy Scriptures are the infallible word of God; that they are the divine and complete revelation of God; that they are verbally inspired by God, and that they are the supreme and final authority of faith and practice.
About the Lord Jesus Christ
That the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born of a virgin; that He is true God and truly man, and that He is the one and only Saviour of men.
That the Lord Jesus Christ died for the sin of mankind, and that His death has satisfied the righteous demands of a sin-hating God.
That the Lord Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, and ascended in that body to heaven.
That the Lord Jesus Christ will return, first to take every true believer to heaven, and then to establish His kingdom on earth, and reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.
About mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of the sin of Adam, the whole human race was affected, and therefore man, apart from Christ, is spiritually dead and lost, and is incapable of any personal merit for salvation.
About the forgiveness of sins
We believe that when a person sincerely repents of their sin, and puts their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, they immediately enjoy the forgiveness of sins and possess eternal life.
We believe that men can be right with God only on the single ground of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose shed blood cleanses from all sin.
We believe that all true believers everywhere have eternal life as a present possession, and therefore have full assurance of salvation for time and eternity.
